A decades-long fixture of municipal and provincial politics, Ceci is the incumbent MLA for Calgary-Buffalo. He first won the seat in 2015 and served as finance minister in Rachel Notley's cabinet. Ceci also served as the alderman for Ward 9 from 1995 to 2010.

Eremenko won the NDP nomination in November 2021, defeating Brian Malkinson, who served as MLA from 2015 to 2019. She was previously the NDP candidate for Calgary-Elbow in 2019, and ran for the Ward 11 council seat in 2017.

Singh was first elected in 2019 after owning an automotive repair business in Calgary. He is originally from Fiji. Singh faced bribery allegations involving his election campaign, but the UCP government fired the election commission before the investigation was completed.
A school teacher and activist, Valencia came to Canada from the Philippines in 2015. He is the co-founder of Bahaghari FilipinX, described as “the first FilipinX-Canadian 2SLGBTQ+ organization/group based in Moh’kinsstis.”

A prominent activist, volunteer and a trained military field medic, North Peigan is seeking to become the first Blackfoot woman elected to the Alberta legislature. She ran for council in Ward 7 in 2021.
