The Sprawl connects Calgarians with their city through in-depth, curiosity-driven journalism. But we can't do it alone. If you value our work, support The Sprawl so we can keep digging into municipal issues in Calgary!

That's a wrap on 2025! As we close up shop for the holidays after a very full year, we bring you a message of heartfelt gratitude illustrated by Sam Hester. Read on!

And with that, we are signing off until the New Year. The Sprawl has done good work and I am excited to build on this momentum in 2026!

As you've seen, we put a lot of love (and elbow grease!) into everything we do. As the robots make their continual advances, we're doing our best to keep it human over here.

But to keep doing that, we need your support. In 2026, our journalism will remain un-paywalled, available for everyone to read and share. That's been our MO since day one: serve the community with in-depth local news, and then invite Calgarians to be part of it.

So if you see civic value in the work The Sprawl did for Calgary in 2025, support our journalism so we can do even more in 2026!

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy New Year and all the rest! May you find light in the darkness of this season, now and into the year ahead.

Jeremy Klaszus is founder and editor of The Sprawl. Sam Hester is a Calgary cartoonist and the creator of The Sprawl's Curious Calgary series.
